Project Runway is a horrible, horrible show, and even worse fodder for a blog title, but I couldnt think of anything else. So strike a pose.

Gad-Zoinks!
I found a few awesome pics of folks in GL costumes online, (I can't vouch for the website on the first one though. investigate at your own risk.)
I've never had anyone make a costume or toy based on the charachter design that I came up with.
Soranik Natu is one of those , and well, to a guy like me, that's one of the coolest things in the world.
People that I have read online seem to really like the design for her costume in the books. That's suprising. Probably because I designed her look to be rather utilitarian and simple.
The GL costume in general is quite minimal. ( usually green chest/shoulders/boots, white gloves and black everything else.) But, its the slight tweeks to suit the charachters personality that can make hard to come up with an interesting look.
The best part I suppose, is that If I don't like it, well....the suits are ring generated, so I can phase various elements in or out of the costume as I see fit. (see Isamots original design with shoulder slits? well they didn't last too long.)

I think the thing that appeals most to my 15 year old socialy-akward comic-book-drawing fanboy part is the basic fact that someone dressed up as a charachter that I designed! When I saw that it just made my day.

Who am I kidding? The truth is, every single time I get the finished version of a comic that I drew, or see a poster up at the store with my art on it or whatever, I instantly geek out.

I just can't stop myself...

..and really, why would I want to?

Fabulous! I must say that the girl posing as Natu looks pretty good!

true story: I was told by editorial to raise the neckline on Soranik when I did those pages back in #12 because they showed too much cleavage..in fact, I should make a blog on that... lol

Seriously that is cool that people are paying homage to your designs by actually making the real thing! Now you just need to take a pic with one of those fans.

DC wanted you to RAISE a neckline? I...I am stunned.

I had the neckline plunging down really low, I don't remember how low, but it might not be too much of an exaggeration if I said almost down to her belly button. I, apparently, don't buy into the "costume-should-fit-her-professional-character" reasoning.
